Contrast-enhanced abdominal CT in the axial and coronal planes demonstrates a moderately severe colonic obstruction related to an apple core lesion in the sigmoid colon (arrows). Urgent colonoscopy was performed and demonstrated an adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon. A stent was placed (image F) to relieve the obstruction.
